The Monastery of Hagios Kosmas is located in the village Megalo Dendro, 2 km north of Thermo. Birthplace of Kosmas Aetolos.


The Monastery of Hagia Paraskevi is located in Mandra, 4 km north-east of Thermo. There you will find the "Hidden School", with waxworks.


The Monastery of Myrtia lies 6 km west of Thermo and is dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary. According to the founder's inscription, it was founded in 1491.


The New Archaeological Museum is located 100 metres from Ancient Thermo. The most important findings of the excavations in ancient Thermo are many buildings and the stoas of the agora of the Aetolians, as well as the pedestals of the statues or other offerings that stood in front of the stoas, which, according to the historian Polybius, were 2,000 at the time of the League's heyday. They include findings from the excavations at the temple of Thermios Apollo and Calydona, clay idols from Chrysovitsa, Roman columns etc.


The Church of Hagios Nikolaos, in the village of Hagia Sophia, 3 km west of Thermo. It is built on the foundations of the temple of Artemis.

The Monastery of Katafygio, featuring beautiful old icons, is located 9 km north of Thermo.


The Apokouros Library is housed in the Town Hall.
